Nomination for Fellowship
Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS)
Professor van Zundert has been nominated for Fellowship of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS) — one of the highest recognitions in Australian health and medical science.
AAHMS Fellowship is awarded strictly by nomination and peer endorsement. Candidates cannot apply directly. Nomination requires endorsement by three existing Fellows and additional independent referees. Fewer than approximately 500 leading scientists across Australia have been elected Fellows.
The nomination recognises:
- National and international excellence in health and medical science
- Sustained and transformative contributions to Australian healthcare
- Leadership in academic medicine and institutional development
- Mentorship and capacity-building across generations of clinicians and researchers
- Translation of research into policy, innovation, and improved patient outcomes
